Hurricane Helene Update: Cobb County Sheriff’s Office & County-Wide Closures

Update on Hurricane Helene-related closures within the Cobb County Sheriff's Office

  • Effective noon, Thursday, Sept. 26, all Cobb County courts and offices are closed until Monday, Sept. 30, weather permitting. This includes Superior, State, Magistrate, Probate, Juvenile Courts, and their Clerk’s Offices.

Cobb County Sheriff's Office Updates:

  • Fingerprinting, raffles, and other services will not be available during the inclement weather closure.
  • The Cobb County Adult Detention Center will remain open. Individuals booked in the ADC during this time will have a first appearance after the chief judge reopens the Cobb courts.
  • Sworn Cobb County Sheriff's Office personnel will continue their duties and work with other county emergency and first responders to help keep residents safe.

Safety tips:

  • Turn around, don't drown: Just a few inches of water can sweep away your vehicle.
  • Stay indoors: Avoid walking or driving through floodwaters, and stay away from bridges or fast-moving streams.
  • Electrical safety: Be mindful while using electrical appliances, and don't stand near windows during a storm. Keep your mobile devices charged.
  • Report hazards: If you come across a flooded street, downed power lines, or trees, call 9-1-1 to report the hazards.
