Teamwork in Action: Homicide Suspect Apprehended Through Dual-Agency Effort

Marietta, GA. - On Monday, Jan. 13, the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) apprehended a homicide suspect wanted for the murder of man in Marietta. Sheriff’s deputies successfully located and arrested the suspect off Chapel Hill Drive without incident, following investigative efforts by the Marietta Police Department.

This case exemplifies effective teamwork and coordination between law enforcement agencies. Marietta Police Department detectives led the investigation and secured the arrest warrant. Upon locating the individual, the CCSO’s Special Operations and Criminal Investigations divisions deployed specialized units, including the Fugitive Apprehension and Support Team (FAST), SWAT, K-9, CID, and the Drone Unit to assist in the apprehension.

"One year ago, I established the Special Operations Division to unite various internal units in order to improve operational efficiency, bolster our collaboration with local law enforcement, and better protect the citizens of Cobb,” said Sheriff Owens. “It's incredible to witness the efficiency of this team to take dangerous criminals off the streets.”

Following the arrest, the Marietta Police Department transported the suspect to their headquarters for questioning before transferring them to Adult Detention Center.
The Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to assisting our law enforcement partners and leveraging specialized resources to ensure the swift and safe apprehension of dangerous suspects.
