Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Announces 3rd Citizens Academy
MARIETTA, GA (Feb. 7, 2025) - The Cobb County Sheriff's Office invites community members to participate in the Cobb County Sheriff's Citizens Academy (CCSCA), a unique opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge and engage with the Sheriff's Office leadership. Through this engaging program, participants will learn about the duties, structure, and operations of the Sheriff's Office through lectures and hands-on activities.
Who: Cobb County Sheriff’s Office
What: Cobb County Sheriff's Citizens Academy (CCSCA) — A five-week program aimed at educating residents about the Sheriff's Office. The academy includes lectures, hands-on activities, interdisciplinary workshops led by Sheriff's Office leaders and trainers, discussions with specialized unit representatives, and role-playing events with tactical equipment displays.
When: Thursdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on the following dates:

Where: Cobb County Public Safety Training Center, Cobb County Adult Detention Center, and Sheriff's Office Headquarters in downtown Marietta
Why: The Sheriff’s Office offers an unforgettable experience in community partnership, empowerment, and education. It allows residents to see behind the scenes of the Sheriff's Office and interact with key personnel and leadership.
Enrollment Requirements:

Possess a valid government identification

Complete an application and submit it to the Community Engagement Unit

Successfully complete a background investigation

Attend at least 5 out of 6 sessions
