Cobb County Jail Program Celebrates First Women's Parenting 101 Graduation of 2025

MARIETTA, GA (Feb. 18, 2025) – The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office will host a special graduation ceremony inside the Adult Detention Center to celebrate the achievements of nine women completing the Parenting 101 program.

Led by Counselor Christina Saliba as part of the facility’s inmate programs, Parenting 101 equips female detainees with essential parenting skills tailored to their children's individual needs. The program also provides strategies for staying connected and engaged as a parent while incarcerated, reinforcing the importance of maintaining strong family bonds.

"Parenting is the impossible process of teaching the one thing you can't live without how to live without you," Saliba shares, emphasizing the program’s core mission.

This marks the first Women's Parenting 101 graduation of 2025—and the largest class to date. The program began with 35 participants in December, and nine have persevered to reach this milestone. Their dedication highlights the Sheriff’s Office’s ongoing commitment to rehabilitation and breaking the cycle of recidivism.
