The Sheriffs’ Cup is an anti-gang and anti-bullying football tournament aimed at positively influencing school-age children in the metro Atlanta region. This year, 7th-grade football teams from McEachern Junior Indians (Cobb),Adamsville Vikings (Fulton), and Mill Creek Hawks (Gwinnett) will participate.

What: Join us for the Sheriffs’ Cup Invitational games to support bullying and gang prevention. Watch as talented young athletes compete in a round-robin format. Each team (McEachern Junior Indians, Adamsville Vikings, and Mill Creek Hawks) will play against every other team for one half, with a point system determining the top two teams. These top two teams will then face off in a final half to determine the championship.

When: August 3, 2024 | Media Check-in: 9 AM – 1 PM | Event: 10 AM – 3 PM

Where: McEachern High School | 2400 New Macland Rd | Powder Springs, GA 30127

Why: The Sheriffs’ Cup is important for children as it promotes personal growth, skill development, camaraderie, and recognition, contributing to their overall development as individuals and football players. The sheriffs are committed to engaging with kids to discuss being positive role models and leaders in their communities. Studies show that around 7th grade, gangs intensify their recruitment efforts. The Sheriffs’ Cup provides a platform for youth to discuss gang and bullying challenges they face as scholar-athletes. It raises awareness of anti-gang and anti-bullying causes and offers resources to kids and parents dealing with these issues. Help us spread the word about this great initiative and give our scholar-athletes a platform to make a difference.
