MCS, Cobb County Sheriff's Office Officer-Involved Shooting
MARIETTA, GA - During a traffic stop on Wednesday, Nov. 15, members of the Marietta, Cobb, and Smyrna Organized Crime Unit (MCS) encountered an individual and shots were fired.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. near South Cobb Dr. and Old Concord. The officer-involved shooting included Cobb County Police Department officers and Cobb County Sheriff's Office deputies.
The suspect is deceased. Law enforcement officers were not injured in this incident.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigations will conduct an independent investigation. A joint unit, MCS, is overseen by the Cobb County Sheriff's Office.
